So here I sit. Stuck at home for 3 days while I attempt to potty train Finlay. And it's been kinda nice! Forced to stay at home. I was just looking through pictures and realized why it's felt so good to be stuck at home potty training...because we've been BUSY!
Looking back it's been Party Central around here. End of Year parties, Welcome Back Parties, and Goodbye Parties. And every bit of it has been a bundle of fun.
We had a Committee End-of-Year picnic at a house on the water. Gotta love Annapolis...where it's not uncommon to have a private pier & dock, a boat, your own sandy beach, and instead of playing "Baby in the Air" in the front yard after dinner, you go tubing as a family.
And speaking of sandy beaches... our dear friends, the Foster's, left our little sailing town and moved to Tampa, FL...where they see sun & sand, water, and blue skies for much more of the year than we do. Thankfully for us, they came back for a visit. We had a morning playdate with the kids. The kids played outside & had a picnic while we talked over Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwiches & Tomato Basil Mozzarella Caprese Salad. Oh, the kids & moms reunited over little bites of Brownie-Ice Cream-Cupcake Heaven.
And since the men were so sad they couldn't make the playdate, we had more fun with the Foster's that evening. We went to a friends house for Happy Hour. Finlay pushed his buddy Luke around while Laird sat and played quietly on a blanklet. Josh was in charge of watching the kids out back, while I sat, talked with my friends, and drank Sangria... just as it should be :)
And as we reunited with the Foster's, we said goodbye to another one of our best! Our beloved friend, Susan, is leaving us for Salisbury, North Carolina (home of Cheer Wine & Food Lion!). We threw a party, hid people's babies under tables, and took lots of pictures to send with her, so she never forgets us! Susan is one of Finlay's favorites! We're gonna miss our SuSu!

And although we've been busy (but as Josh would say, "who isn't?!"), we wouldn't trade any of our party-ing for the world! What fun it is to be with friends who love us & our babies.
ok, those brownie bite ice cream things look awesome! what are they and how did you make them?? i think i may need to make some of those once i get a kitchen back! :)
