A Good Weekend. Really Clean Floors.

I can always tell how much fun we're having by how often I have to clean my floors. I swear, next to nursing & changing diapers, there is nothing I do more than clean my floors.

We had a great weekend.  But I cleaned my floors a lot.

The Manifold family started their weekend on Thursday night. It was the end of the month for Josh.  Since he works entirely on commission and gets paid monthly, we celebrate the end of the month.  So, he left work at 4:00 when the market closed. We all went to Yellowfin, a local on-the-water place for Happy Hour. It's one of our favorite things to do.  We make their 1/2 price Happy Hour appetizers into a dinner.

We had fun on Friday playing outside. It's been getting pretty hot around here.  I'm started to get nervous that we skipped Spring...

Finlay asked, "baby come?" so we brought him outside and sat him in his Bumbo seat so he could be with Finlay.

The fun lasted until Finlay knocked over the bubbles and got upset.  I told him he could pick up the container of bubbles, but he chose to ignore me and just watch all the bubbles spill out.

We came inside and decided to make some Oatmeal Raspberry Scones I've been dying to try.

And while they were baking, Finlay played with the leftover buttermilk I made.  He informed me that one of the measuring cups was for "Poppy" and the other for "Kakoo (Grama)".  I bet they're thrilled to know that they get leftover homemade buttermilk :)

All done! And since they were so good, and I didn't want to eat them all, we decided to package them up for our friends coming in town!

Finlay decided to continue his cooking by sauteing some strawberries...

Later that evening I put Laird down and had Finlay help me finish planting my second EarthBox.  I found a worm in the soil and showed Finlay, but he got scared.

This is the same kid who will fall backwards off the bed in a "trust fall" position, hoping you'll catch him.
But he's scared of a worm??!! Come on, kid.

We finished with a bath and a dorky side part. I love it! :)

Friday ended with me cleaning the bubble soap, spilled buttermilk, EarthBox soil, and other daily grime from my floors.

Saturday we had our friends from New Jersey visit! So fun to see them again! And meet their newest little girl, just 10 days old. And before I get in trouble for making my friend with a 10 day old come to me, instead of going to them....they were actually here getting newborn pictures taken from their old photographer. :)

Here's Hannah Gray & Finlay playing in the water sink...which basically consisted of them walking cups of water back and forth to the basil plant...

Finlay got bored and decided to check on Joni going to the bathroom :)

Then Hannah Gray got stuck in Laird's Bumbo Seat!

AND... the night ended with a BIG kiss for Hannah Gray!

And the night ended for me by cleaning my floors again.  And how thankful I was to clean them. So fun having our house full of friends and babies and lots of fun!

Sunday afternoon we had some more friends over to grill out.  The kids had fun with the sprinkler. It was so hot I almost thought about putting a bathing suit on and joining them! Almost... :)

And tonight, Josh cleaned the floors. :) I told him I wasn't going to sweep or clean them again. Isn't he the best?!
