Rainy Day

Today was one of those dark, dreary days. No downpour. Just a constant rain.  I kind of liked it.

We started off at church this morning. I had my weekly Wednesday morning study and so Finlay & Laird went to the nursery. It was a good "study". Hardly anyone in my group did their workbook this morning so we all talked. :) One girl found out she was pregnant with her 4th. One might be moving. And the rest of us talked about how none of us can lose weight...about going to nutritionists, trainers, getting our thyroid checked, and the possibility that we just need to take better care of ourselves & hit the gym :) It was actually a refreshing time to spend with friends!

Of course Finlay loved the nursery. When I picked him up I was with two other friends, whose children both ran straight into their arms. Finlay stayed on the see-saw in the room and instead yelled "MAMA!" "MAMA!" Basically, he wanted me to see him.  When I finally got him (by telling him we were going home to have lunch with Daddy) he tore out the room & down the hall, until someone finally stopped him before he exited the building. I, of course, was always a few feet behind him, carrying Laird in his carseat, my purse, diaper bag, & Finlay's crafts, all slowing me down a bit.

Speaking of crafts, Finlay came home from church with a "Prayer Rock" wrapped in fabric and tied with a bow. Now, we're all about prayer, but the last thing Finlay needs is a rock. It's now in the trash.

After lunch I had a former coworker of mine over so I could meet her new little boy! We had fun being together, although we both spent our visit standing & holding our babies so they could sleep!

After she left, I decided to let Finlay play in the rain.  It was the perfect kind of rain for a little boy to play in.  Here he is frolicking with his favorite boots & umbrella.

When we came in Finlay wanted to "cook" so we made a Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast someone told me about on a website called Weelicious. There's no sugar in it.  It's a great site for toddler cooking. Although, picky Finlay still probably won't eat anything from it!

And I should note that I SERIOUSLY sliced my finger while cutting the bread cubes for the french toast. I told Josh when he came home and he said, "I don't get it. Do you not focus or something? Why does your family always cut themselves?" I laughed and told him he better stop now before I get into the "whys" of his family!!! :)

Finlay picking all the blueberries out...

Josh walked in from work and Finlay was all excited to show him how he got to "stir, dada!"

It's out of the oven and so far, Finlay's refusing to try it. So annoying.

Happy Rainy Day Everyone!!!
